If you would prefer to be away from the water completely, then there are plenty of land activities for you to try. Hiking is very popular due to the mountains and hidden trails that people find. Gran Canaria Weather and Climate
The climate in Gran Canaria is very much a spring climate. In the summer temperatures, on average, are around 26°C to 28°C. Temperatures can occasionally reach higher than 30°C but there is a cooling breeze to help you remain comfortable. The south of the island is a lot warmer and sees very dry weather, with the north being slightly cooler. In the winter, temperatures are still very high, being between 22°C and 24°C. The highest chance of rain on the island is in January and February although it still remains warm. September shows the warmest temperatures, with August and October following closely. July offers the most sunshine hours with around 12 hours a day whereas January only shows around 7 hours of sunlight a day.
